Terms and Conditions of Use for the Henley Business School Online Learning Services

Please ensure that you read and understand the Terms and Conditions below.

I hereby apply to Henley Business School for registration as a user of Henley Business School’s online learning services (e-Library and e-Learning systems). My application is submitted subject to the following conditions, my acceptance of which I hereby confirm that I agree to be bound by these terms and conditions as governed by and interpreted in accordance with English Law and agree to be subject to the jurisdiction of the English Courts in respect to any matters arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions:



1.

I am wholly responsible for providing myself with, and thereafter maintaining, a suitable computer, printer, modem and telecommunication network as per Henley Business School specifications, to enable me to use the online learning services. I recognise that Henley Business School has no responsibility for these matters and that I shall be solely liable to pay any charges I incur in my connecting to the Henley online learning services.

2.

I will not authorise, or knowingly permit, anyone else to use my password to gain access to, or to use the Henley online learning services.

3.

I will not use the Henley online learning services and content for purposes other than those directly relevant to my Henley Business School activities. I will not use the services, content, facilities and equipment of the Henley online learning services for my employer's commercial purposes or gain.

4.

My registration as a user of the Henley online learning services shall continue only whilst I qualify for access to the Henley online learning services (for example whilst I am a registered programme member or member of staff).

5.

Henley Business School shall not be liable to me for any loss or damages, howsoever arising out of my use of the Henley online learning services or from failure, breakdown or malfunction of the Henley online learning services, or as a result of Henley Business School cancelling my registration.

6.

Any activities developed solely by Henley Business School on the Henley online learning services, including all international copyright thereon, remain the property of Henley Business School.

7.

All information held within the Henley online learning services shall remain the property of the author, and is therefore subject to all international copyright laws.

8.

I shall be solely liable to pay any charges I incur for my use of any online services I access and use through the Henley online learning services or other Henley Business School software.

9.

I accept that Henley Business School shall have no responsibility for any loss or damages I may suffer, including loss of data, resulting from computer bugs or viruses.

10.

I hereby indemnify Henley Business School against any action, loss, damage or injury arising out of my failure fully to observe the above conditions, or from my acting on information supplied on the Henley online learning services. These conditions will constitute an agreement between myself and Henley Business School immediately my registration as a user of the Henley online learning services is effective, and that agreement will remain in effect throughout the duration of my registration as a user of the Henley online learning services.

11.

I will not use the Henley online learning services inappropriately - for example by making offensive or personal remarks or pursuing personal vendettas. I recognise that the transmission of any material which is unlawful, vulgar, profane, defamatory, obscene or which violates anyone's privacy or other personal rights is likely to lead to my access to the Henley online learning services being removed, and may lead to other disciplinary measures.

12.

I accept that whilst Henley Business School will take all reasonable steps to ensure the security of the site, through the use of firewalls, anti-virus protection and security certificates, Henley Business School shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this website, including (but not limited to) the results of misuse by third parties, failure of security, etc.

13.

I agree to respect the confidentiality of other users and Henley Business School, and recognise that attempting to breach security of the site will be treated as serious misconduct, and will lead to serious disciplinary measures. In addition to any legal redress, which may be available to Henley Business School, measures can include suspension or expulsion in the case of course members, and dismissal in the case of employees. 14.

Enrolled students at Henley Business School may be given access to an online learning area within which personal information will be disclosed only to fellow members of your learning cohort and tutors for the purposes of teaching and learning. This personal information will include your student name and learning team, and also information directly entered by you. Your personal information will be processed according to the University’s Data Protection Policy.
